Hello!
I had one preordered book arrive this week and I also bought a new kindle book as I am absolutely hooked on a new series.
Waterstones Book
I’m really excited to read this because I love the books by Alison Weir. I will also be taking this book to hopefully be signed by Alison Weir when I go to a history talk in July.
Kindle Book
I am just over half way through the first book of this series and I can’t put it down so I really wanted the next book ready to read.

Hello!
I am in full holiday planning mode and this means loading up the old Kindle with some lovely books. I got my Kindle in 2018 so it is getting rather old and cranky but I’m hoping it will be ok for another holiday in the sun.
Kindle Books
I found a Murderbot short story which I knew I needed to get as I love the Murderbot books. I have also always wanted to read a book by Isaac Asimov so I have gone with this one to see if I like it. I’m sure I will load some more books on the Kindle before the holiday but I think these are a good start.
Physical Book
We are going to Rhodes in the summer so I thought I better get a book to do some research and get planning!

Hello!
I hope everyone is enjoying the Bank Holiday weekend so far. I have managed a little bit of reading so far but I will be honest and say the snooker is distracting me at the moment.
I recently did a book order of some preordered books and on Waterstones and also added some of the books I would like to read soon. Here are the ones which arrived this week.
The Murder at the Vicarage by Agatha Christie is my next book in my Christie challenge and I am very excited as it will be my first Miss Marple book. I really hope it won’t disappoint as I love the TV Miss Marple’s.
Under the Dome by Stephen King is a book that came on my radar after I got hooked on the TV series. I am really looking forward to reading the book but I will be honest I find the size rather daunting.
The Shadow Puppet by Georges Simenon is my next book on my Maigret challenge and makes the perfect read for when my husband is watching the Grand Prix.
I can’t wait to get reading these books and hope to read them over the summer.

Hello!
Only one book purchased this week and it was prep for our holiday. We always like to get a book about our planned destination so we can plan our trip and learn more about the place. The books are also nice little reminders of the places we have visited.
So here is our next holiday destination! We have never been before and we are both very excited to visit. This little book is smaller than expected but it is packed full of useful information and historical facts and is helping us plan what we want to do whilst in Jersey.

Hello!
I hope everyone is having a good weekend so far. I had a voucher for a Kindle book and I am stocking up my Kindle ready for some holiday reading.
I have got book 6 and 7 left to read and I am hoping to read them this year and finish this fantastic series.
I am really enjoying these short stories and finished the second one this week so I bought the third one to start next week.

Hello!
I hope everyone is having a good weekend so far. I have bought two books this week. One book was on Kindle and another was a preorder that I have had preordered for nearly a year.
Waterstones
I can’t wait to read this as I love all things Hunger Games!
Kindle
I finished the first book of The Far Reaches series yesterday and immediately downloaded the next book and started reading it.

Hello!
I had another preordered book delivery this week. I will be honest I had completely forgotten just how many books I had preordered last year!
This one is another by a favourite author and the fourth book of a series I really must start reading soon!
I am determined to start The Bone Season this month and get cracking with this series.

Hello!
My plan to buy less books in 2025 is really not going well so far. There are just so many good books out there!
My two latest purchases are:
Nephthys by Rachel Louise Driscoll is a book I spotted on Bookstagram and really liked the look of so I popped it on preorder and it arrived this week. I really hope it won’t disappoint.
The Mask Falling by Samantha Shannon is purely because I want the set all in hard back. I hate having a mix of hard backs and paperbacks in a series. It really upsets my OCD!

Hello!
This week I spent a few days in Bath and of course this resulted in book shopping. Bath has some of my favourite bookshops and this always results in a quite a few book purchases.
I bought books from three bookshops.
Mr B’s Emporium
I only bought one book from Mr B’s which was quite restrained. I’ve been wanting a really nice edition of the Hogfather by Terry Pratchett for ages and I really want to re read over Christmas.
Topping and Company Booksellers
I got distracted by the Christmas books again and I bought two new ones. I’m really not sure I will manage to read all these Christmas books over December as the pile is getting higher and higher. However, I do keep reading Christmas books until January 6th so I might manage to finish the pile.
Samantha Shannon and Silvia Moreno-Garcia are two of my favourite authors so I was quite excited to get these pretty hardbacks.
Persephone Books
I only bought two Persephone books and another is a Christmas gift. I was hoping to buy a few more but sadly the shop was full of hyacinths. As pretty as hyacinths are I am also highly allergic and was really struggling to breathe so it was a quick in and out of the shop.
I bought:
Little Boy Lost by Marghanita Laski
William – An Englishman by Cicely Hamilton
My TBR pile is getting bigger and bigger but I’m really hoping I can get loads of reading done this month.

Hello!
I was rather naughty this week and went book shopping. I did however have a book voucher so I had the perfect excuse. My local independent local bookshop has a brilliant loyalty scheme where if you collect ten stamps you get a £10 voucher. I had a voucher so I thought it was high time to spend it.
I love the poetry books compiled by Allie Esiri so I was really pleased to see there is one for Christmas. I’m looking forward to starting this on the 1st December.
I’ve always been interested by Catherine De’ Medici but don’t know much about her so I was quite excited to see this book by Mary Hollingsworth on the bookshelves. There was only one copy and apparently it had literally only just been put on the shelves that day so I was quite pleased to have gone in just at the right time.
