What I am currently reading

Still plodding along with Homer but I am enjoying it. The Herodotus is part of some recommended summer reading for the next part of my course.

What I recently finished reading

Absolutely loved The Carpet People but On Chapel Sands drove me mad and to be honest I’m not entirely sure how I finished it.

What I might read next

Another selection of books, hopefully I read one of these next but I seem to be quite picky at the  moment change my mind a great deal on what to read next.

That is another WWW Wednesday is complete. Drop me a comment with your thoughts on the books I have listed and of course please drop your link to your WWW Wednesday.

  1. How are you finding the Iliad? I just recently read The Odyssey for the first time for a book club, and it was an interesting discussing with lots of talk about translation. Looks like you have a lot of great choices coming up too. Lots of people are starting to read the Hilary Mantel series right now. I have the first two books so am toying with the idea of reading them as well. Have a great week!

    1. It is ok thank you possibly not the best translation to have chosen as it reads a bit woodenly but it’s ok. I had to write a whole essay on the translation of ancient texts and The Iliad was one of my case studies. It really is amazing how different a text can be interpreted by different translators and in what time period that translation happened. I keep toying with the idea of the Mantel as well hence why I keep putting it on there each week. I really should just go for it and start reading them! Have a great week.
