Hello!
This is an interesting topic because my reading habits have definitely changed over the years and quite a bit this year.
So here is what has changed.
- Reading more than one book at once – I used to only read one book at a time and hated reading more than one book at a time. Now I read at least two books at once.
- Morning reading – I never used to read in the morning but now I really like to start my day with a moment of quiet which involves my first mug of tea of the day and a good book. Even if it is only a few pages it really helps my day start.
- Bookly App – I started using the Bookly App last year and have not looked back since. I really love using the app and seeing my stats for each book. I find I actually read more using the app.
- Greek Coffee – I have only ever drank tea but last year when I went to Kos I got a little bit addicted to Greek coffee. Now I love curling up with a book and drinking a Greek coffee. I still drink loads of tea as well.
- Hardbacks – My tastes in books has definitely changed because I now much prefer a hardback instead of a paperback. I used to like paperbacks because I could take them anywhere but now I take my Kindle.
- Non fiction – I will be honest I never read non fiction unless I was studying something but over the last couple of years I have fallen in love with history books and I really enjoy reading about Ancient Greece and Rome and the Tudor period.
- DNF books – I have always struggled to DNF books that I don’t like but I have been making the effort to do it more often and to stop wasting my time on books I don’t like.
- TBR Planning – I never used to use a TBR list because I am a mood reader but this year I have really tried to plan some of my reading with my 24 Books in 2024 challenge and monthly TBR. Sometimes I am really good at keeping to the TBR list and sometimes it goes straight out of the window.
- Genres – I have always liked historical fiction, sci-fi and fantasy but over the last couple of years I have also started to really enjoy Greek retellings and crime thrillers and have started to read a lot more of these.
- Book series – I am useless at completing book series but the past two years I have been making the effort to actually complete the series I start.
What reading habits have changed for you recently?
Happy Reading
