Hello!
I’ve had rather a stressful day teaching but I did have a lovely lunch break reading my new book.
What I am Currently Reading

I am really enjoying the variety of these stories so far. I absolutely love the Persephone books.
What I have Recently Finished Reading

I flew through these two books and although I struggled with the main character of Blood Orange I found it a well written and thought out novel.
What I Think I will Read Next

I have so many books I want to read which are on and off the my 20 Books of Summer challenge.
Please drop me a comment with your WWW Wednesday and I will head over for a visit.

Hello!
My TBR plans for May were only half successful but I was pleased with the amount of books I did manage to read.
For June I am mainly focusing on my 20 Books of Summer Challenge but I am hoping to mix it up with some books that are not on the list as well.

Other Options

I’m really behind on my Goodreads challenge so I am really hoping I can catch up a little bit this month.
I hope you all have good plans for June.

Goodreads Monday is now hosted by Budget Tales Book Club. All you have to do is show off a book from your TBR that you’re looking forward to reading.
Hello!
I hope everyone has had a great start to the week. I have been back at school today so less time reading sadly.
My chosen book for this week is another book off my 20 Books of Summer Challenge. This is another book that has been sat on my TBR for way too long.

It was first serialised in the Merry’s Museum magazine between July and August in 1869 and consisted of only six chapters. For the finished product, however, Alcott continued the story from the chapter “Six Years Afterwards” and so it ended up with nineteen chapters in all. The book revolves around Polly Milton, the old-fashioned girl who titles the story. Polly visits her wealthy friend Fanny Shaw in the city and is overwhelmed by the fashionable and urban life they live–but also left out because of her “countrified” manners and outdated clothes.
What are your thoughts on this book if you have read it?

Hello!
I hope everyone has had a lovely weekend. I planned on doing more reading today but instead I ended up having a nap, think I needed the nap more.

Stacking The Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Marlene of Reading Reality. It is all about sharing the books that you have recently added to your bookshelves. These books can be physical books, ebooks and of course audiobooks.
Hello!
I hope everyone is having a nice weekend so far. I will be honest I ended up in a bookshop again this week and I bought 3 books. I only went in to buy Yellowface but I ended up buying a few extra books. However, the books were paid for by my Waterstones points so at least they were technically free.

I’m so excited to get reading these books and I am really hoping I have some time over the summer to read them, preferably in the sunshine with a glass of something nice.
Have you added any new books to your bookshelves recently?

Happy Friday!
I hope everyone is looking forward to the weekend. I have had a lovely day which has included some quality reading.
My chosen poem today is by the poet Alice Oswald (1966). Oswald is an English poet who worked as a gardener before becoming a writer.
A Short Story of Falling It is the story of the falling rain to turn into a leaf and fall again. it is the secret of a summer shower to steal the light and hide it in a flower and every flower a tiny tributary that from the ground flows green and momentary is one of water's wishes and this tale hangs in a seed-head smaller than my thumbnail if only I a passerby could pass as clear as water through a plume of grass to find the sunlight hidden at the tip turning to seed a kind of lifting rain drip then I might know like water how to balance the weight of hope against the light of patience water which is so raw so earthly-strong and lurks in cast-iron tanks and leaks along drawn under gravity towards my tongue to cool and fill the pipe-work of this song which is the story of the falling rain that rises to the light and falls again. Hello!
I hope everyone is having a good week so far. I started my 20 Books of Summer Challenge today and I am so excited to read the books off the challenge. I really hoped to read more books in May but sadly I only managed 5. This means I’m starting to fall really behind with my Goodreads Reading Challenge so I really hope my reading picks up soon as I don’t want to fall further behind.

“Promise me you’ll always remember: You’re braver than you believe, and stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.”
