The book I have chosen for Goodreads Monday is one that I have recently bought and and is now sat on my TBR pile.

So here is the book…

The Secret Adversary by Agatha Christie

Agatha Christie’s first Tommy & Tuppence book is a thrill-packed novel of international intrigue, murder and suspense.

Tommy and Tuppence, two young people short of money and restless for excitement, embark on a daring business scheme – Young Adventurers Ltd.

Their advertisement says they are ‘willing to do anything, go anywhere’. But their first assignment, for the sinister Mr Whittington, plunges them into more danger than they ever imagined…

I am trying to read all of the works of Agatha Christie in order of publication and this is the next one on the list. Hopefully, I will read it soon as I am rather excited to read my first Tommy and Tuppence book.

This is so good! Yesterday, I could barely put the book down, it was a struggle to put it down to teach and do some studying.

I enjoyed this book but it didn’t have the wow factor for me sadly. Review.

What I am Currently Reading

Just started this today and only 24 pages in as I have read it in gaps between teaching as all my spare time has been used wrestling with an essay, but so far I am really enjoying it. It took me a bit to get used to Kidd’s writing style as she is very descriptive but I’m hooked!

What I have Recently Finished Reading

Loved this and found it highly amusing. Review will follow shortly.

What I think I will Read Next

There are so many books I want to read at the moment and so many I have on my wish list. I just don’t know what to read next!

The book I have chosen today has been sat on my TBR pile for a very long time. I actually got the second book in the series in a Goodreads competition and then immediately bought the first in the series and they have been on the pile ever since.

So here is the book…

Red Sister by Mark Lawrence

Hello! Happy Wednesday!

I hope everyone enjoyed some yummy pancakes yesterday. I have a busy day teaching today but I am hoping to fit in some reading between lessons.

What I am Currently Reading

I’m about a third of the way through this book and so far I’m struggling to put it down. I thoroughly love the character of Georgiou and there are some very amusing scenes in the book.

What I have Recently Finished Reading

Review will follow shortly of this book but it will be a positive one, as I loved the book and seeing how the characters from the first book are developing.

What I think I will Read Next

In all honesty I have no clue what to read next. I might have to ask my best friend to choose for me again as that really helped the last time.

I hope everyone is having a good week so far. There appears to be some sunshine here today so I am hoping to get out for a walk in a bit.

So here is what I have been up to in the world of books.

Currently Reading

I am absolutely loving this so far and I can already tell that I will fly through this series.

Recently Finished

I will be honest I did struggle with The Dark Veil and I am beginning to realise that James Swallow is just not an author for me. Here is my review.

The Butcher of Anderson Station was brilliant and a fantastic short story that excellently fills out the back story to Fred Johnson. Review.

What I Think I will Read Next

I will be honest if I had the next in the series then I would go straight on to the next book in The Expanse series but sadly funds are a bit tight for book buying so I must be well behaved and read some of the books I already own. It will definitely be one of these as three of them are from The Willoughby Book Club and I’ve promised myself that I will read at least one of my Willoughby books a month. The others I got in the last Waterstones sale and they are sat tempting me as I type.

I have just started this and so far it is ok. One of my favourite Star Trek characters is Deanna Troi so it is nice to read about her.

The House on Vesper Sands didn’t really knock me off my feet but it was ok. The Mysterious Affair at Styles was fab and I just adored Poirot.
