I took a little break on this but I am now back into reading it and can’t put it down.

What I have Recently Finished Reading

I really enjoyed this and will definitely be reading more by Robert Masello.

What I Think I will Read Next

So many books to read and so little time. I now have 4 weeks off school so I hope to get some of these books ticked off my TBR pile.

Top Ten Tuesday: Books on My Spring 2023 To-Read List

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish and now hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. For more info please check out Jana’s blog.

Hello!

This weeks Top Ten Tuesday is a rewind so I have chosen last weeks topic as I missed it last week. So here are some of the books I plan to read in Spring 2023.

All of these have been stuck on my TBR pile for far top long. This year I am buying less books and so far I have only bought one book a month. This lack of book buying will hopefully mean I can get through my TBR pile a bit this year.

Fingers crossed I get around to reading some of these books.

If you have taken part in Top Ten Tuesday this week please drop me your link and I will head over for a visit.

Hello!

I hope everyone is having a good week so far. I sadly haven’t managed much reading so far this week but hopefully I will manage a bit more over the weekend.

What I am Currently Reading

I have been mainly reading this since last Wednesday as it is quite a battered book so I haven’t felt guilty about carrying it around everywhere. I am really enjoying the book so far.

What I have Recently Finished Reading

I have loved the Diddly Squat books. They have been some great quick reads these past few weeks.

What I Think I will Read Next

As usual I have so many books that I want to read and no idea what I will read next. I really need to try and finish all the books I have on the go first though.

Please drop me a comment with your WWW Wednesday and I will head over for a visit.

March 2023 TBR

Hello!

I hope everyone is having a good weekend so far. I have spent a lovely day reading A Day of Fallen Night by Samantha Shannon.

My TBR pile for February went rather well. I managed to read two books and a half off the list. Sadly I didn’t read my Persephone book or finish Meditations by Marcus Aurelius.

Nonfiction Read

I bought this book last year and to be honest I forgot about it but yesterday I remembered it again and decided it should be this months nonfiction read.

Ancient Greek or Roman Text

I will hopefully finish Meditations this month and then start The Greek Plays. I have already read some of the plays but it will be good to reread them again.

Persephone Book

I really hope to read this this month as I never managed it last month.

Classics Club List

I’ve read this book so many times but I really want to read it again and it is one of the books on my Classics Club list.

So those are my planned reads for this month whatever time I have left in the month I will devote to my mood reads.

I hope you have some good books planned for March.

Hello!

I hope everyone has had a good start to March. I’ve had a busy day teaching but I managed some reading during my lunch break which was lovely.

What I am Currently Reading

I’ve made a big push with The Count of Monte Cristo this week. I am still really enjoying the book but it is quite a slow read. I started Diddly Squat yesterday and have nearly finished it. It is a really easy read and very funny.

What I have Recently Finished Reading

This was a reread for me and I absolutely flew through it. I am absolutely loving being back into the world of Dr Galloway.

What I Think I will Read Next

So many books to read and I have quite a few lined up for March. Hopefully, I manage to get a good number read this month.

Hello!

How is everyone’s week going? I have had a lovely day card making, reading and walking. I had to do some teaching this evening but I now don’t have any teaching till Monday so that is quite nice. Reading is still going well which is good.

What I am Currently Reading

I started Meditations by Marcus Aurelius today and so far I am finding it quite interesting. I spent all day yesterday and this morning reading The Count of Monte Cristo and I am still absolutely loving it.

What I have Recently Finished Reading

I knew I shouldn’t have reread The Pilgrim’s Progress but I honestly thought I might feel differently about the book after so many years. No such luck though, I will post my review soon. I reread The Crossing Places in a matter of a couple of days, I will be reading the next in the series once I have finished Meditations.

What I Think I will Read Next

As usual I’m never quite sure what I will read next but I have been enjoying having a slightly more structured reading with my TBR for each month.

February 2023 TBR

Hello!

I hope everyone is having a good weekend so far. I have had a busy day with my Etsy store putting new products on the store and getting orders ready to post on Monday.

This year due to my challenges I am trying to be a little more structured with my reading but also leaving room for some mood reading as well. Every month I plan to read at least one non-fiction book, one Ancient Roman or Greek text, one Persephone book and one book off my Classics Club list.

So here are the books I plan to read for February.

Non- Fiction Read

This has been on my wish list for ages and when I had it for a Christmas present I decided I had to read it ASAP. I have actually started reading it and so far I can’t put it down.

Ancient Greek or Roman Text

This is actually on my Classics Club list as well but I am going to try and read another book off my Classics Club list this month as well.

Persephone Book

I really want to read this or at least start it this month as it is rather a large book.

Classics Club List

I’ve been sorting through some of my books recently and found my copy of this so I have left it out ready to read this month. I also have a beautiful antique copy of this book at my parents house which contains some stunning engravings but for now it will stay safely at my parents house till I get some proper bookshelves.

So those are my planned reads for this month whatever time I have left in the month I will devote to my mood reads.

I hope you have some good books planned for February.

Hello!

I hope everyone has had a good week so far. I have been back at work this week and it has been rather a shock to the system but I am still trying to keep up with my reading.

What I am Currently Reading

I have nearly finished this now and I am really enjoying it. I will definitely be reading more Classics this year.

What I have Recently Finished Reading

I read this at the weekend as I quite fancied a short read. It was quite a strange book but fun and I found it amusing in places.

What I Think I will Read Next

I have so many books to read that I am never sure what to read next. It all depends what mood I am in, the curse of being a mood reader.

Goodreads Monday: 9/01/2023

Goodreads Monday is now hosted by Budget Tales Book Club.  All you have to do is show off a book from your TBR that you’re looking forward to reading.

Hello!

Welcome to my first Goodreads Monday of 2023! I have been back at school today and teaching at home in the evening and I will be honest it has been a bit of a shock to the system. I can’t read and drink endless tea all day. Although I did have to text my husband for an emergency mug of tea between lessons this evening so I have managed a reasonable amount of tea.

I am still featuring books that are on my Classics Club list on my Goodreads Monday’s because all the books are also on my Goodreads TBR.

My chosen book for today is…

Written in Greek by the only Roman emperor who was also a philosopher, without any intention of publication, the Meditations of Marcus Aurelius offer a remarkable series of challenging spiritual reflections and exercises developed as the emperor struggled to understand himself and make sense of the universe. While the Meditations were composed to provide personal consolation and encouragement, Marcus Aurelius also created one of the greatest of all works of philosophy: a timeless collection that has been consulted and admired by statesmen, thinkers and readers throughout the centuries.

I did Philosophy for A Level many years ago and a couple of years ago I did a Masters in Classics so this book really interests me. Also this year I am determined to read more from Ancient Greek and Roman times so this book ticks a lot of boxes. Fingers crossed I manage to read it soon as I have a beautiful cloth bound edition that I am just itching to read.

Have you read Meditations by Marcus Aurelius? What were your thoughts?

Please drop me a comment if you have taken part in Goodreads Monday and I will head over for a visit.
