Hello!

This week has been a busy week of book buying. On Tuesday I visited my local bookshop. I am so lucky to have a bookshop so close to my house and it is really nice to support an independent bookshop. I bought three books from Booka Bookshop and filled another loyalty card so I have a £10 voucher to spend on my next visit.

I also had three books from Waterstones two were preordered and one was one that my husband and myself would both like to read.

Booka Bookshop

  • Table for Two by Amor Towles – I recently read A Gentleman in Moscow by Towles and absolutely loved it so I really want to read more of his books.
  • Mary I Queen of Sorrows by Alison Weir – I absolutely love Alison Weir so any of her new books is a must buy.
  • The Voyage Home by Pat Barker – I read the previous books of this series on NetGalley so it is nice to read the third book and own a physical copy.

Waterstones

  • Crimson Lake by Candice Fox – We love the TV series Troppo and now we both really want to read the books.
  • Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros – I am currently reading Fourth Wing and I absolutely loving it so I’m happy to have the next book in the series.
  • Odyssey by Stephen Fry – I really like Stephen Fry’s books and I’m looking forward to reading this.

Hello!

I hope everyone is having a nice weekend so far. I have had a busy day doing jobs around the house and work on the library continues.

I haven’t done much book buying recently as I am trying to read the books I already have piled up everywhere but I have been reading House of Odysseus by Claire North and realised I hadn’t got the third book in the series yet. So obviously when I went to Worcester Waterstones I had to buy myself a copy. I also bought a couple of books when I visited Belton Estate.

I have the first National Trust On Screen book and really found it interesting so I was very excited to find there was a second one.

I am currently doing a mini course on Art History so when I found this enormous book in the second hand book shop in perfect condition for just £8.50 I knew I had to get it.

Hello!

I hope everyone is having a good weekend so far. I actually went book shopping this week which was rather nice as I haven’t been on a proper book shopping trip in a while.

  • Hera by Jennifer Saint – Jennifer Saint is an auto buy author for me and I am really looking forward to reading her take on Hera’s story.
  • The Last Word by Elly Griffiths – You have all probably seen by now that I am slightly obsessed with Elly Griffiths. My favourite series is the Dr Ruth galloway books but I also enjoy Griffiths’ other books.

I can’t wait to get reading!

Hello!

I hope everyone is having a good weekend so far. This week I visited the second hand bookshop at Attingham Park and I came away with a book that is brand new and clearly never read. New books at a second hand bookshop is always a favourite find.

I’ve got a few Jo Nesbo books dotted around the house but I still haven’t read many of his books. This one looks really good so hopefully I will read it soon.

Hello!

My week so far has been wonderful. I’ve been on loads of adventures but sadly this does also mean less reading. I have done some book buying on my adventures and I have also done some kindle book buying in readiness for my holidays.

Kindle Books

These were all on offer for 99p each and because I love all these authors I just knew I couldn’t resist.

Books

I bought these two books from the second hand bookshop at Coughton Court. I love the bookshop there and always find a gem or two when I visit.

Hello!

I hope everyone is having a good weekend so far. I am really looking forward to half term next week, I’m hoping it will mean lots of reading time and some adventures.

I’ve received two books this week both of which I am very excited about to read.

  • Klova by Karen Langston – This sounds like a really different read for me and one that intrigues me. Hopefully I get around to reading it soon.
  • The Hedgerow by Anne Leigh Parrish – I love the cover of this book and I am hoping the book is just as beautiful because I really like the sound of the blurb.

Hello!

I am really not doing well on the book buying at the moment. My resolution this year was to not buy too many books and this month I just haven’t been able to stop.

I went to Ironbridge this week and visited the second hand bookshop there and found a book that has been on my wish list for a long time. I have wanted to read this book for ages so now I have no excuse because I own a copy. It is also one of the books on my Classics Club list.

Hello!

I hope everyone is having a good weekend so far. I have been busy with my Etsy shop today so sadly haven’t managed much reading but hopefully I will manage some later.

I have bought three books today. Two I have already posted about in my Cambridge Waterstones post.

I have already started reading A Gentleman in Moscow and I am absolutely loving it.

Stacey Halls is an auto buy author for me so I’ve had this preordered since December. I really hope this book will be as good as Halls previous books.

Waterstones Challenge: Cambridge

Hello!

I have finally ticked off another Waterstones store from my challenge. I haven’t been doing very well with my challenge recently so it felt good to tick off another store.

I met my friends in Cambridge today and of course I had to check out the Waterstones store and buy some books.

I actually purchased three books but one was a Dinosaur book for my friends little boy.

Here are the books I bought.

  • Solaris by Stanislaw Lem – I will be honest I bought this book because I absolutely love the film and I have always wanted to read the book.
  • A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towless – We have just started watching the new series of this on Paramount Plus and absolutely love it so I decided I needed to read the book.

Please drop me a comment if you have read any of these books or if you have a favourite Waterstones store.

Happy Reading.

Hello!

So the restricted book buying has completely gone out of the window this month which is worrying as we are still at the beginning of the month. However, I have been in Bath and that is always fatal as Bath has some of my favourite bookshops.

First up are the books I bought at Persephone Books.

I am completely obsessed with Dorothy Whipple so I was determined to get more of her books from the Persephone book collection.

  • They Knew Mr Knight by Dorothy Whipple
  • Greenbanks by Dorothy Whipple
  • They Were Sisters by Dorothy Whipple

Books from Waterstones

  • The Three-Body Problem by Cicin Liu – My husband really wants to read this book but we could not get a copy as every bookshop seemed to have sold out. However, after ducking into Waterstones to avoid the rain we managed to get a copy. I also plan on reading it once my husband has read it.
  • Song of the Huntress by Lucy Holland – I quite enjoyed Sistersong so I thought I would give Holland’s next book a read as well.

Mr B’s Emporium

  • What the Greeks Did for Us by Tony Spawforth – I love anything to do with Ancient Greek’s so when I spied this book I knew it was a book I needed to read.
  • The Book of Days by Francesca Kay – I haven’t read anything by Francesca Kay but this book looked interesting so I thought I would give it a read.
  • Life, Death and Disease in the Middle Ages and Beyond by Professor Alice Roberts – I wrote quite a few essays on ancient diseases and death practices in Ancient Greece and Rome so I’m quite interested to see what they were like in the Middle Ages.

Topping and Company Booksellers

  • Queens of the Crusades by Alison Weir – I love Alison Weir and I am always on the hunt for books that I haven’t read yet so I was quite excited when I spotted this.
  • Adam Bede by George Eliot – I am trying to read all of George Eliot’s published works and this one is on my list to read next.
  • Dying of the Light by George R. R. Martin – I am really enjoying Martin’s sci-fi books so far so I am quite excited to read this next.
  • Tuf Voyaging by George R. R. Martin – Another Martin book to read.
  • The Book Forger by Jospeh Hone – This was actually my husband’s choice but I fully intend to read it as well.

I have one more week left off from teaching so I hope I might get a lot more reading done and I might tackle some of my new books.
