I hope you are all having a good week so far. Today has been a rather long day work wise. I’ve had students throw tantrums, students tell me ridiculous excuses for not practicing and students try and tell me that a piece I set them to practice for homework was not in the book. I do love it when an 8 year old tries to tell me I have no clue what I am doing.

Anyway back to the reading.

What I am Currently Reading

I am still trying to read at least a chapter a day of The Count of Monte Cristo but I have decided I can’t read it in bed anymore, this is due to the fact I fell asleep whilst reading and nearly gave myself a black eye when I dropped the book on my face. No reading in bed has slowed the progress somewhat for The Count of Monte Cristo. The Woman Who Would Be King is a great read but I must admit I do find Cooney a bit repetitive at times. I find myself saying ‘you have already told me this why are you telling me again?’.

What I have Recently Finished Reading

Nothing! This is really bad as I usually I have at least one book finished.

What I Think I will Read Next

I need to get a move on with my reading as I have got rather bogged down with my current reads and would love to get reading some other books.

I’m nearly half way through with this and I must admit I am struggling. I suspect I have already worked out who the murderer is because the story is quite predictable but I am really struggling with the characters especially the main character. I will carry on till the end though as I am reading and reviewing it for the publishers but I am finding it all quite odd.

Happy New Year!

Blogging is now hopefully all back to normal because over the festive period everything has gone out of the window. This was sadly mainly due to illness and being too tired to blog but I am thankfully now on the mend.

I missed a weekly brief so this is technically a two week brief.

I never finished Aeneid by Virgil so I have decided that I will read a book a day starting from today to finish the book. I’m not sure why I didn’t finish it because I absolutely love the book. I have also been reading The Box of Delights by John Masefield and I am hooked. I love his writing and although the slang is rather dated it just adds to the fun of the book.

I hope everyone has had a good weekend so far. My blogging hasn’t gone quite to plan this week. I had planned to blog yesterday but we got stuck outside our house for hours and hours waiting for an emergency locksmith because our lock broke. Hopefully next week will be a better blogging week.

I have finally started my festive reading and I am very behind. I am really enjoying this book although I was very surprised to see how small the print is (maybe I am getting old).

I have done lots of Christmas shopping this week which also meant that I have bought a few books for myself as well. I will post a book haul soon.
